Fossil Bay Lodge is closed for the winter but will reopen for NZ Labour Weekend on Friday 25th October 2024. Our booking calendar is currently open, though, for the upcoming 2024-2025 season (25 October to 27 April) so be sure to book early to secure your reservation ahead of the crowds.

The glamping experience at Fossil Bay
Glamping - short for 'glamorous camping' - is the perfect marriage between staying in the great outdoors and enjoying hotel-style amenities. No need to pitch a tent, roll out a sleeping bag, or endure freezing cold showers just to experience the beauty of bush and wildlife. At Fossil Bay Lodge, every glamp is outfitted with convenience in mind to bring you the best of nature and comfort at once. Each bell tent includes:
- Queen-size (or larger) memory foam bed, with bedding and towels provided
- Fully covered sisal mat flooring
- Indoor seating and tables
- Private outdoor area with table and chairs
- Private 'wine barrel' bathroom with hot water, rain-head shower, sink, and camping toilet
- Battery-powered lanterns and battery charging packs for mobile phones/devices
A large shared lounge/kitchen is also available to all with a full kitchen, dedicated fridge space for each guest, WiFi access, washing machine, and more.
Positioned on Waiheke Island's northwestern tip, Fossil Bay Lodge is only a short ways from Oneroa village and the Matiatia Ferry terminal yet is still far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of a much more rural property. Owhanake and Oneroa beaches are a quick walk away and several Te Ara Hura walking trails are right at our doorstep.
