FAQ

Answers to common questions.

Fossil Bay Lodge is located at 58 Korora Road, Oneroa, Waiheke Island. Catch the ferry from downtown Auckland to Waiheke Island and from there you can get to us via bus, taxi or walking from the ferry terminal. See below for more details.

You can catch a Fullers Ferry from downtown Auckland to Matiatia, or the Sealink Car/Passenger ferry from Half Moon Bay to Kennedy Point. Taxis will be waiting at the ferry terminal. We recommend ‘Island Taxis’ as your cheapest option, you can expect a ride to cost between $12-15.

Buses also wait at Matiatia (there is no bus route to Kennedy Point) and meet all sailings from Auckland. Catch the Rocky Bay bus (2, 2x) and ask the driver to let you off at the 2nd stop on Korora Rd. Walk down the road for about 8 mins to the lodge.

Car, bicycle, ebike, motorbike and scooter hire are also available on the island.
